Parish Educator for the Cathedral Parish

The Cathedral Parish welcomes people of all ages, both on weekdays and weekends, through its well-developed worship and music life. The Cathedral Parish conducts extensive activities aimed at increasing courage, hope, and faith in the future. We are now looking for a parish educator for the Cathedral Parish in Linköping's cathedral pastorate. This is a parish where children and youth have an important and natural place. The activities are intergenerational, and everyone can feel welcome here. We have come a long way in our work with children and youth and are now seeking someone who can contribute to continued development in this area.

About the Position

In the role of parish educator, you will be responsible for the open activities aimed at children and families. You will independently lead the work with Baby Song, Open Preschool, and the Little Choir, as well as participate in the work with the Sunshine Group and the children's choir, the Diamonds. You will coordinate the parish's Sunday School, which engages several volunteers. In close collaboration with musicians and priests, you will be involved in worship services and lead gatherings in both the Cathedral and our parish house. You will also lead and coordinate the pastorate's work with the Children's Cathedral.

The tasks are varied, and you will combine independent work with teamwork. As a parish educator, your responsibilities will include teaching, engaging in conversations with people about faith and life, and developing social and inclusive meeting places. Working hours may be scheduled for both evenings and weekends.

About You

We are looking for someone who is an educated parish educator (or equivalent) with musical competence. It is crucial that you have a good ability to build relationships with children and parents/caregivers.

As a person, you are secure and stable, and you are well-rooted in the faith and life of the Church of Sweden. The work is carried out in close collaboration with colleagues and volunteers in the parish, and it is important that you enjoy leading groups and appreciate collaborating with others.
